Dr Geoffrey Omedo

Geoffrey Omedo (PhD) is a Sustainable Development Specialist with over eighteen years of international development experience across Africa, having worked for UNV, UNOPS, UNIDO, and UNDP at country, regional and global levels. He holds a PhD in Environmental Law with an interest in economic incentives application for environmental management in the mining sector, a master's degree in environmental management and planning, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, Physics with a specialization in Meteorology. Dr. Omedo is the Technical Specialist Climate and Energy Finance at UNDP Nigeria, where he is spearheading the design and implementation of UNDP Nigeria's Integrated Clean Energy Offer. Before this role, he led UNDP's Global Knowledge and Community of Practice on Sustainable Energy. His stewardship at UNDP Kenya shaped the country's regulatory, policy and financing landscape, cumulatively delivering over 50 million USD in grant investments.
